Isdera Imperator 108i

Isdera Imperator 108i - a car with high ambitions, made to compete with ots bigger brothers from Lamborghini and company.
Its design is very similar to what Lamborghini Countach and the later Vector W8. Only 30 cars are produced, which make it one of the rarest exotic supercars in modern time.

Isdera Imperator 108i

This car came alive after Mercedes decide to sponsor a small German company. It is born from a Mercedes concept car. Eberhar Schulz, the creator of imperator have worked 5 years as design engineer in Stuttgart Mercedes factories. At that time with he received a financial support and creates Mercedes CW311 - a mid-engined supercar prototype.
There is not many potential buyers for that model and the company decides to stop its development. However Schultz receieve engines for developing Isdera under its own name. And that's how Isdera Imperato 108i is born.

The Red Imperator

According to Auto Motor, testing results showed the following results:
- top speed of 176 mph or 284 km/h;
- from rest to 100 km/h - 5.0 seconds.

Isdera Imperator 108i specifications

Specification 1

- standard 5-liter V8 motor as in Mercedes 500SEC with 235 hp.

Specification 2

- 5,6 liter AMG V8 motor as in Mercedes 560SEC with 390 hp

Specification 3

- 6.0 liter AMG V8 motor with 420 hp.

The motors of Isdera's spec 2 and spec 3 have advanced 32-valve cylinder heads.

Although it turned out to be the slowest in the field, its performance was nearly as good as the mighty Lamborghini Countach QV, which was quite an achievement for a little known German supercar maker.

However, speed alone does not sell. The public never accepted Isdera Imperator 108i as equal to Italian supercars. After 10 years of
fighting, Isdera finally went out of business in 1993.

Ledl

This is Ledl AS - a very interesting and rare car - only
249 copies are manufactured between 1981 and 1987. When I first saw it I was a kid collecting car pictures from bubble gyms. This car was one of my favorites.
Here down is the original picture I saw for first time. It was a memorable time, collecting those pictures, which name actually is "Turbo".

Proceed to "History of Ledl"

According to the given data:
- Motor is 1600 cc, 6 cylinders
- HP 129
- Maximum speed 220 km/h

It seems there are 3 models: AS 130, AS 160 and AS 160i. Here is what I found in Wikipedia:

Type Production
Cylinders Hubraum Leistung
AS 130 1981-1987 4
1297 ccm 69 PS (51 kW)
AS 160 1981-1987 4
1597 ccm 96 PS (71 kW)
AS 160i 1981-1987 4
1597 ccm 105 PS (77 kW)

There is an obvious difference of 24 hp between the Turbo Picture and the Wikipedia information. My opinion is that maximum hp for AS 160i is 126 as stated in carfolio.com.

I searched for Ledl and found very interesting pictures. Just type Ledl in Google and click in image results. Here are two of the great pictures I found:
